BPsych GradDipEd (School Psychology) MPsych(Clin) MAPS

Where do I work?............  I work in Kew on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

How long have I worked in Mental Health?............ 16 Years

Mental Health Experience............ I have worked in private practice for 13 years and I am an APS registered supervisor offering psychological supervision to Clinical Psychology registrars. Previously,  I have worked in private and  public P-12 schools as a school psychologist, and for government disabilities services providing state-wide autism and developmental disability assessment and treatment.

Who do I treat?............ Children (12 years+), adolescents, and adults

Areas of expertise............ I work with people suffering from historical developmental trauma (childhood abuse, neglect, bullying, family conflicts and separations, grief and loss, sexual abuse/assault, injuries and accidents) using evidence-based trauma treatments such as EMDR and Schema Therapy to resolve PTSD, anxiety, depression, and phobias as well as problematic relational patterns.

Other modalities that I incorporate into my work include: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, and Relaxation skills training.

I am skilled in working with adolescents and use CBT to help young people and their families understand and resolve anxiety, low mood, and other mental health challenges, as well as to develop effective coping strategies for managing their mental health into the future.

I enjoy working with a wide range of clients, particularly neurodiverse, LGBTQIA, and culturally diverse populations, and work hard to individualise my approach to meet the needs of these clients.

My therapy style............ I use a gentle, collaborative approach, taking care to match treatment to my client's individual story and therapeutic needs. My clients value my compassionate, genuine and good-humoured approach to therapy.
