CHILD AND ADOLESCENT MENTAL HEALTH

Identifying mental health issues in a child is tough for parents as it’s hard to tell signs of a problem from normal childhood behaviours. It’s also easy to reason that every child will display some of these signs at some point.

 

Children can experience a range of mental health issues for many different reasons. Our highly trained Psychologists can help a child and their parents learn about his or her mental health, moods, feelings, thoughts and behaviours and help them learn how to respond to challenging situations with healthy coping skills.

 

Below is a list of warning signs that If your child shows signs of, they can benefit from seeing one of our Psychologists:

 

  • Mood changes

  • Intense feelings such as overwhelming fear

  • Behavioural changes

  • Difficulty concentrating

  • Unexplained weight loss

  • Physical harm

  • Withdrawal
